Finding Decorative Supplies- Samaroo's Review

Hi everyone!

I hope you've successfully chosen your safety equipment and resin. Here's the fun part- glitter!.. and other supplies.

There are tons of places to find resin supplies. You can find moulds in the baking section of home goods stores and in the local version of dollar stores. Glitter and other inclusions are everywhere. I won't get into all the places to get supplies because we'd be sitting here until next Carnival (too soon?). My plan is to write a post whenever I find somewhere with good supplies and good service. Today I'll tell you about my experience with Samaroo's.

This store has been around for years and is known as the Carnival supplier but you can get lots of general craft supplies there too. I recently placed an order on their new website and I have only good things to say about it.

I placed my order when they had a sale on glitter, which is basically a crafting staple. Their website had some great deals but the store is huge and not every single item was listed on it so I sent them a message asking about a couple of items I wanted. I spoke with Kimlyn who was very easy to work with. Over the next few days, I sent requests for some more items I needed and they were all added to the website by the following day. Kimlyn was very patient and answered all 2374893 of my questions, and even checked in later to make sure I got through with my order.

When placing my order, I had the option to pay online using my credit card and have it delivered via TT Post, pay online and collect in store or pay and collect in store. I chose to collect in store and my husband collected the order for me because, let's be real, I wasn't waking up in time to beat the traffic. He said the order was ready when he arrived and they went through it with him so he could confirm that everything I wanted was included. The process was quick and he was glad to note that covid protocols were followed.

Overall it was a very efficient experience, and the prices are good. 10/10, would shop here again.

The Safety Series - Choosing a Work Space

Hi everyone! Now that you've read the MSDS for your preferred resin brands and done a bit of research, we'll get into some of the criteria for choosing a work space. First of all, you need to make sure you have a well-ventilated work space that's separate from your living area. Resin and hardener can each give off their own fumes but when they're mixed, they create toxic fumes . These are given off during mixing and curing. Even though most epoxy resins can be removed from their moulds within 24 hours, they still aren't fully cured until a week or even a few weeks later (depending on the brand) and will continue to emit those toxic gases in decreasing amounts until they're fully cured. Your living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are NOT safe places to use resin. Any room that people or animals spend time in is unsafe for resin use, even if it's well-ventilated.
